For the ones who we haven't spoken to in person yet: Alfons and I plan to move to China by the end of this year. Alfons accepted a job offer in Nanking (Nanjing) starting at approximately November 2007. I decided, after my successful move from Eindhoven to Amsterdam, that I can face this challenge as well!
The details of this move aren’t clear as we speak, but will follow very soon.
Preferably, My graduation project will be finalized at Albert Heijn. If there are any unexpected issues that will obstruct the thesis, I made a back-up plan with my graduation mentor. One thing is sure: I will finish my Msc. !
Thursday evening, my Mandarin course starts and I’m looking forward to learn the Chinese essentials: “Do you have this dress in size 36”, “I would love this purse in pink” and “No thank you, I’m a vegetarian, I don’t eat dogs”.
Via this web log I would like to inform you (dear friends, family, colleagues, and others) about all our experiences. Later on I plan to build a website, but I have to look up my old computer science books for that.
If you have friends / family / fellow students / business relations in China / Nanking I would love to contact them.
Besides that I want to update my address book. I try this every year before X-mas, but somehow it fails to succeed. This is a perfect moment to organize this and therefore, please send me all your contact information (If you want to do so please by mail: marjoleincoppens@hotmail.com). Also practical tips / tricks / info etc. are very welcome.
